Oktoberfest

Friday, Sept 27 - Saturday, Sept 28

A friendly outdoor party in Hoboken celebrating our German roots, Late summer and Community fellowship with seasonal beer, food, music, and more!

My Dear Parishioners and Supporters of Saints Peter & Paul Parish -

Our Oktoberfest Days of celebration last weekend were a wonderful success!

I thank all of you who were able to come out to enjoy the Days with us. From all accounts, there were record numbers who came on both Days to enjoy food, music, and have a relaxing and fun time within our Parish and the wider Hoboken

Community.

Elderly and young, family groups, children, and young adults, Parishioners and visitors, all came together in support of the Parish, and to enjoy each other's company. It was a true snapshot of the Body of Christ.

For such a wonderful experience, all of us owe a debt of gratitude first to our own Stephanie Panzariello. In her capacity as Director of Office Administration, Stephanie was the Staff supervisor, coordinator, and interface with a Committee of volunteers, supplemented by our Parish Staff, to plan, organize, and execute all that you saw and enjoyed. The Committee members are: Stephanie Panzariello -Staff Liaison,  Elizabeth Ertel Staff Liaison,  Danny Rosado-Staff Liaison,  Peter Bakarich, Katie Bakarich, Sarah Becker , Melissa Nwokah, Hannah Osterman, Michael and Deborah Pizza. All of our Parish Staff were fully engaged in Oktoberfest activities everywhere and anywhere, while maintaining the 'routine' of their regular responsibilities. They are a true blessing to the Parish. My particular thanks and blessings go to them. In addition to those already mentioned above, they are: Brian Walters, John Bews, Nora Cisneros and Marissa Ehner.  Supplementing our Staff were our corps of Student-Interns: Front Office Interns - Vanessa Cisneros, Karissa Gabot, and Veronica Melikov; Maintenance Interns - Brereton Conway, Elias Frieling, and Steven Panzariello. Something like this doesn't happen overnight. There were months of planning over the Summer and right up to the September days of celebration. To our Committee, Parish Staff, numerous Volunteers working at either: the Grill, Beer Garden, check-in, as food & drink ticket sellers, or selling 50/50 Raffle tickets; at the Kids' Tent w/pumpkin decorating, face painting, games, and caricaturist; helping with set-ups, supplies, breakdown, and/or cleanup: THANK YOU for your work and presence! And for all of you who came out to patronize and enjoy it all - THANK YOU! Without each of you - Committee, Staff, Volunteers, Sponsors, and Patrons (many of who are pictured throughout the photo collage) - it could not have been the spectacular event that it was. May God continue to bless you for your support of the Parish.

Our thanks also to the various Offices of the City of Hoboken and the Hoboken Police Department. Their assistance and presence greatly contributed to a safe environment.

Gratefully yours in Christ,

Monsignor Michael
